WALKS PLANNED FOR 2018:
21 JULY 2018
Harold Porter NBG to share transport to the start at Fairy Glen
Wild, wet and wonderful! It’s a while since we explored the Plateau Path above Fairy Glen. It’s a year and a half since a fire cleared the area, the winter rains have come and the resprouters and some bulbs are finding life again. Who knows? We may find signs of new life from some reseeders too. We will see waterfalls, lively mountain streams and wonderful views.
Bring rain gear, a flask of something warm and a snack. The trail is reasonably strenuous going up past Kasteelkop and tricky descending via the Klipspringer Path, so bring a hiking stick and wear sturdy boots or walking shoes.

A joint botanical walk with members of the Kirstenbosch Branch of the Botanical Society. They’ll be coming to our neck of the woods under the leadership of Ivor Jardine with whom a walk in the wild is an inspiration!
We’ll explore the Hangklip Nature Reserve where the spring flowers will be ‘to die for, darling’.
We will meet as usual at Harold Porter NBG at 09h00 and travel together to meet our Kirstenbosch guests in Pringle Bay and then proceed to the entrance to the Hangklip Nature.
