BATTLE OF BETTY’S BAY: REPORT ON HACK NO 633

Frik Potgieter

On a beautiful day a small but enthusiastic group of hackers got stuck into the Rooikrans on the piece of open land bordering Porter Drive south of the Centre Shop. Great work, but we will have to come back some time in the future to finish off.

With neither Di Knott or Christine Dreyer available, Merran Silberbauer roped in willing sandwich maker, Hilary Butler from British Columbia, Canada. They made the sandwiches and tea for the hackers: Frik Potgieter, Hilary and Maarten Mauve, John Whitehead, Rosemary Fowkes, Jan and Betsey Joubert, Sue Fielden and Ed Silberbauer.

Frik Potgieter, the hack convenor, may be contacted at frikjanp@gmail.com or on 084 600 9891.

Calling for sandwich volunteers!

The Betty’s Bay Monthly Hack needs volunteers to join those who make the sandwiches for the tea break. Currently we rely on two people, but another two would mean each doing duty only once every four months. You do not have to be a hacker or attend at tea time but simply be prepared to make the sandwiches that morning before 10 am. If you would like to commit yourself, please contact me, Merran Silberbauer, on 028 272 9096 or 072 170 4021.
