Hack Group meetings just wouldn’t be the same without the traditional tea and sandwiches served after a hard morning’s work! - Allan Heydorn Removal of Acacia elata trees from the terrain of the Disa Jeugkamp At the end of a hack on the western border of the Disa Jeugkamp in October 2014 by members of the Hack Group of the Kogelberg Branch of the BotSoc, it was agreed that there is little point in removing masses of A. elata saplings (Australian Peppertree Wattle) as long as the row of mature, seed-bearing trees remains standing. PRINGLE BAY HACK REPORT NO 116

- Chris Geldenhuys, ConvenorThe Pringle Bay Hack Group gathered on 28 August under the cover of mist for the 116th hack in Pringle Bay. For this hack we returned to the Point area, where the Rooikrantz and Australian Myrtle are becoming a serious threat. We hacked the verges of Hangklip Road between Bell Road South and North. Despite the good turnout and the group’s courageous attack, we will have to return to the site due to the extent of the Australian Myrtle. PRINGLE BAY HACK REPORT NO 115

- Chris Geldenhuys, Convenor On a wonderful winter’s morning that you can only find in Pringle Bay, the Hack Group began work on 31 July 2016, again in Peter Road. The primary challenge again was the ever present Rooikrantz, some of them real monsters.
