CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

Rooi Els resident, Louise du Toit, jeweller, weaver, naturalist, has made two big contributions to Kogelberg Branch; first by creating a wonderful pendant which we raffled, raising nearly R6000 which went towards the publication of Your Place in the Kogelberg, and secondly by translating that book into Afrikaans for us. In both cases, Louise has acted on her own initiative, without being asked. We have a really good way of thanking her and recognising her special efforts: awarding her the Botanical Society’s Certificate of Appreciation. This was presented to her recently outside her beautifully situated home at the sea. Sadly for us, Louise and Pierre are very shortly moving to Somerset West. They will still be members of Kogelberg Branch and, as we wish them happy days in their new home, we hope that we’ll see them again at branch activities.
