BOTSOC COMMITTEE 2016 – 2017

- Merrilee Berrisford Kogelberg Branch has always been well served by its committee members. Each year there is some continuity and some new faces. The constitution of the branch specifies that eight members are elected and additional people may be co-opted. At this year’s AGM the eight people willing to stand were elected en bloc; to fill the positions of newsletter editor and treasurer, two more have been co-opted. CONGRATULATIONS!

One of our Botsoc members, Margaret de Villiers of Hermanus, has just won a Gold Medal at the Royal Horticultural Show in London for her illustrations of Ericas. It is the second time she has won Gold at this prestigious gathering; the first time she also won Best of the Show. Congratulations Margaret!

BOTSOC COMMITTEE NEWS

Merrilee Berrisford Committee members Charlotte Rademeyer has been on the branch committee since October 2014 and has made a very real contribution to Kogelberg Branch. She was a very competent editor-in-chief of the newsletter for nearly a year, introducing photographs adding interest and colour. Charlotte also produced the first poster – ‘Bad Plant, Good Plant’ - featuring the dreaded New Zealand Christmas tree and giving suitable alternatives.
