December 2018 During December, work continued on the slopes of the Klein Hangklip Mountains between Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. Australian Myrtle and Acacia Longifolia were taken out at Die Stroompie and New Zealand Christmas trees on Albertyn Street, Betty’s Bay. An extra day was worked to clear a property of Austalian Myrtle and Rooikrans in Diaspora Avenue, Betty’s Bay. During the month of December, 78 man-hack days were thrown at the enemy. The Wednesday Hack

Work continued on the slopes of the Klein Hangklip mountains between Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. Rooikrans were also hacked near the Milkwood forest at the mouth of the Buffels river. During the month, 86 man-hack days were thrown at the enemy. The Wednesday Hack Report

A very bad patch of Spider Gum was discovered on the slopes of the Klein Hangklip Mountains between Pringle Bay and Rooi Els as we were cleaning up the last of the Myrtle. The group concentrated on this, with a lot of digging, cutting and pulling involved. The problem is huge and will require a lot more effort. Although the weather also interfered this month, some work was done on the pine infestation on the slopes between Pringle Bay and Rooiels. A bad Australian Myrtle patch on the western side lies waiting.
