The Wednesday Hack

December 2018

During December, work continued on the slopes of the Klein Hangklip Mountains between Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. Australian Myrtle and Acacia Longifolia were taken out at Die Stroompie and New Zealand Christmas trees on Albertyn Street, Betty’s Bay. An extra day was worked to clear a property of Austalian Myrtle and Rooikrans in Diaspora Avenue, Betty’s Bay. During the month of December, 78 man-hack days were thrown at the enemy.

Hackers were: Tom Dreyer, Frik Potgieter, Jan Joubert, Bernard and Natalie van Wulven, Jeannie Harning, Ulli Niemann, Tim Attwell, Carol Wilson, Claude Moine, Selwyn Botha, Mike Begly, Louw Toerien, Chris Geldenhuys, Jane Fearnhead, Mike Robinson, Bernie Becker, Willem Stiglingh, Chris Cadman, Nils Rottcher, Giel Maree, Gaenor Lees-Rolfe, Ed Silberbauer, Sandy Middleton and a friend of Claude Moine.

March 2019

We continued hacking on the slopes of the Klein Hangklip Mountains between Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. Work was completed on the Rooikrans forest on Beach Boulevard, Betty’s Bay and New Zealand Xmas trees were hacked around the church in Pringle Bay.

During the month, 72 man-hack days were thrown at the enemy. Hackers were: Tom Dreyer, Frik Potgieter, Bernard and Natalie van Wulven, Ulli Niemann, Tim Attwell, Claude Moine, Selwyn Botha, Louw Toerien, Chris Geldenhuys, Mike Robinson, Willem Stiglingh, Chris Cadman, Nils Rottcher, Giel Maree, Ed Silberbauer, Sandy Middleton, Jack Wixley, Bernie Becker, Sue Fielding, Barbara Silcock, Mike and Karin Burns, and Peter Rondi.
