Betty’s Bay Hack Report No 662&663

The Battle for Betty’s Bay: Report on Hack 662 (June 2018)

The troops tackled Acacia Elata and Eucalyptus in Disa Jeugkamp and on the slopes of Voorberg. Boring, but absolutely essential in order to save the mountain for future generations. So a big thank you to all!

The tea was made by Merran Silberbauer, and the sandwiches by Christine Dreyer. Thank you ladies! Penguin Place again donated the bread.

The troops were: John Benn, David Bossenger, Chris Cadman, newcomer Pierre Combrink, Tom Dreyer, Jane Fearnhead,  Richard Gould, Jan and Betsey Joubert, Ulli Niemann, Natalie and Bernard van Wulven, Lewis and Caroline Silberbauer with grandson Nico (6), and Frik Potgieter. Ed Silberbauer, retired from hacking, supervised the poison.

The Battle for Betty’s Bay: Report on Hack 663 (July 2018)

Hack no 663 was cancelled due to rain. A disappointment to us Hackers, but the rain was much needed. Next month, if it doesn’t rain, we will return to the Disajeugkamp terrain to deal with Acacia elata seedlings and other alien invasives.
