THE BATTLE OF BETTY’S BAY: HACK REPORT 644

A well attended hack on a beautiful day did some very good clearing of the verges of Porter Drive. It is becoming a pleasure to drive down this road, the fynbos is something to be proud of!

Christine Dreyer provided the sandwiches and Merran Silberbauer the tea. Thank you ladies! Also thank you to Penguin Place for donating the bread for aforesaid sandwiches not only for this hack but throughout the year!

Enjoying tea were Tom Dreyer, Jan Joubert, Maarten and Hilary Mauve, Ulli Niemann, Frik Potgieter, Carole Roberts, Lewis Silberbauer, John and Sue Weaver, Ed and James Silberbauer, newcomers Natalie van Wulven and Jeanne Harning, visitors Marti Scheepers and Antionette Janssen, and ex-Betty’s Bay hacker John McNaught Davis.

After the hack the annual office party was held at Ed and Merran’s wondrous dell – thank you both for a lovely occasion! Joining the hackers were Peter and Merrliee Berrisford, Betsey Joubert, Rea Borcherds, Pauline McNaught Davis, Jane Fearnhead, Ulli’s wife Katerine, Rosemary Fowkes (unable to hack with her arm in a sling) and husband John, and Caroline Silberbauer with daughter Judy, her partner Morne Conradie and son Nico.
